I like to think of this as MY swimming hole. I know, no one owns the river (thankfully), but if anyone has legitimate claim to a spot, this would be mine, as I have a nice flat rock that I’ve been hanging out on for over 40 years. The water isn’t super deep, but enough to play around and sit in, on a hot summer day. There is usually only one other friend here, that occupies the rock just above me, each of us enjoying our little part of the river. This day, a front came through and almost chased me away. Almost.
