I woke up at 2am, drove to this location, and used Star Walker to assist me in lining up the Milky Way. Being technically challenged however, I arrived too late only to find the Milky Way too high in the sky. So I returned again another night at midnight, and found the timing was right, but only to find another photographer there. With the distraction of trying to time my exposures and light painting, while working between the other photographers equal attempts, I was unable to get what I wanted. The third time, I found myself blissfully alone and quietly photographed it rising, light painting the foreground with my headlamp. It took a few tries, but I finally got what I envisioned. Three’s a charm:)!
