#180102pan: Mt. Washington and the Northern Presidentials Panorama

Yesterday was perfect, getting a hike in before the oncoming deluge expected the next couple days. I may have bitten off more than I wanted yesterday, as I found the trail well packed in 3/4 of the way, but not so much in places. Even packed, it’s still a bit harder than summer hiking, akin to walking on a sandy beach. But even then, I was forced to post hole up to my knees for about 1/4 mile near the end. As I plunged deep into the snow with each step, I thought about turning back more than once. But I had come so far, and knew the view that was awaiting me, so I slowly slogged on. Finally cresting the last ridge and popping out to this magnificent view, making it all worth while:)
